Character Name: (Please do not use any Ancient Language in your name, combinations of Ancient Language words are okay but it won’t add anything good to our impression of you. Completely original names are much more creative and unique, you won't find people having the same name as you if you make up your own name. No completely ancient Language names will be accepted, it's too common)
Race: (Your character's race can be almost anything within the laws of Alagaesia. There is a list of races in this thread. If I have missed a race, then feel free to PM me.)
Gender:(This is the most basic part in the whole application, and I shouldn't find myself having to correct people on this one. Male or Female.)
Age: (How old is your character? Another basic one, but it can be slightly more complicated. I expect an age from everyone. The only exceptions are werecats. You do not have to have an age if you are creating a werecat, because I don't even know if werecat's know their own age. Please make your age realistic, and make it match your character‘s abilities and appearance. If you put a younger age here, you will probably be asked to change it to something older. We have too many seventeen-year-olds running around whacking people with swords.)
Alliance: (Does your character pledge themselves to the Varden, the Empire, or are they independant? This isn't rocket science (I know, that's the most cliche sentance ever). Be realistic. No elves for the Empire, nor any Dwarves for the Empire. No Shades in the Varden, etc... You can have your characters allied to two groups, like the Varden and Surda, or the Varden and the Elves, etc. =))
Home: (Where was your character born? Where do he/she reside now? This isn't a necessary part, but it would be nice if you included it. It has to be a place within Alagaesia, nothing else. Once again, be realistic. Don‘t be afraid to get detailed here. Even if your character now wanders, write about any past homes.)
Physical Appearance: (What does your character look like? You MUST be realistic on this. Please provide a decent amount of information on how your character appears, I want to have a full vision of what he/she looks like in my head. Do you really want be thinking of your character missing eyes, or legs? Give not only hair, eyes, or facial features, what is his/her body build, skin color? Go all out! Look at yourself, then transform anything that comes to mind when you see yourself in the mirror to match your character instead of you. This part could be a good page long if you really wanted it to be!)
Clothing: (This section doesn't have to be as long as the appearance, but I don't really want that vision of your character to be naked. Does you character prefer to wear a certain color clothing? Does he/she like to wear a cape or cloak? Are their clothes usually work- or travel-worn or are they clean and crisp? No modern clothing, like t-shirts or jeans. Tunics, breeches, leggings, and such are much more appropriate. You can also add in armor if your character has some, but you must also give regular clothing. It‘s impossible to wear armor all the time. o.o)
Skills: (Can your character fight? Can he/she swim? I don't only want battle skills here. A skill is the ability to do something well, not the ability to use a certain weapon well. The 'something' is the key. Tell me exactly what your character can do, what they can't. I'm not saying list everything he/she can do, and everything he/she can't do. Just tell me what he/she can do exceptionally well, or what your character is terrible at. So that means list things he/she can‘t do as well. I couldn‘t think of a word for something a person is bad at, otherwise that would be in the section title as well.)
Personality: (Tell me exactly how your character is, how he/she acts, etc. I don't want that vision that's in my head to be standing there blandly, not knowing anything that's going on. (Well, if that's how you character actually is, than that's fine.) Don't be the norm with this section either. Go all out. Explore yourself and convert your traits to match your character instead. Does your character like crowds, or would he/she rather work and be alone? What is your character's demeanor? Are they rude, kind, cruel, paranoid? What do they like or dislike? I want to feel like I've known this person for years!)
Strengths and Weaknesses: (Your character HAS to have at least one weakness, the more the better. People have a habit of leaving this trait out, so a special section is needed. No weakness, no accept. As I said, if you have quite a few weaknesses, it's better. It shows that you are willing to be beaten. By weaknesses, I mean mental ones as well, not just physical. What is your character afraid of? What makes your character’s knees give way? What personality flaws does your character has? Same goes for strengths, I want mental as well as physical. Your character's strengths should come easy to you, no one has a problem with that.)
Weapons: (What weapons does your character use? What weapons would he/she prefer to use? Don't just list some weapons, describe them. Do they have any special markings? Qualities? No magical weapons are allowed. This part can be extremely long if you are good at describing this.)
History: (Where does your character come from, what has happened to her/him in the past? Just how did he/she get that scar below his/her left eye? Where did they learn how to cook so well? Give me details, I want to know exactly who your character is, and what they've done. If you prefer to leave your character's history as a surprise for the roleplaying, so be it, but I do want at least a little bit of information here if that is the case. This part should be the backer for everything else you've written so far. How did your character achieve those skills? How did he/she get his/her weapons? Why does your character have the strengths and weakness that he/she does? Such things as this should be listed here. Tell all, leave nothing. Unless of course, you want to reserve the majority of it for the roleplaying.)

Feel free to rearrange the sections, or combine sections, etc, just make sure you include a decent amount of all the information listed. =)
Make sure you write your character bio in full sentences. The staff want to know what kind of writing skills you have, instead of just how good you are at listing words. If you don't write in full sentences you will more than likely be asked to revise your bio. ^^ Thanks!
Once you have your character ready, please post it as a new thread in the Designed to Imagine board (the one this thread is located in.) One of the character moderators will look it over, give you any pointers that can be given, and either tell you to work more on your character before it will be accepted, or that you are accepted.
NOTE: When posting your character, please place the name of the character in the Subject! Thanks!
